Ever since Steve Jobs unveiled the first iPhone in January 2007, everyone from techno junkies and teenagers to businessmen and housewives, have been in love. The iPhone has become synonymous with style, high-technology and cutting edge design, its unique and is easily one of the most desirable gadgets on the market today. In an age where there are many different brands of smartphones on the market, many of which are much more affordable than the Apple offerings, the question remains: what exactly makes iPhone different?

Doubtless one factor is the large touchscreen. While other smartphones have touchscreens, the iPhone does not include a keypad at all, leaving room for a much larger screen and making navigating, finding contacts and texting much easier.

Others would say that it’s the features that make the iPhone so extraordinary: from music and video content, to GPS, internet, email and exceptional photographic capabilities. One of iPhone user’s favourite features is that iPhone software is compatible with pretty much all of the apps that other apple devices enjoy, opening up the option of literally hundreds of games and programs that will keep you glued to your phone for hours at a time.

The iPhone has gone through several changes over the years, from iPhone to iPhone 3G, to iPhone 3GS, to iPhone 4 and currently the most recent generation, the iPhone 4S. Apple’s latest offering offers a rear and forward facing 8 megapixel camera, and video camera which films at 30 frames per second, as well as options of 16, 32 or 64 Gb storage, as well as a variety of other features. In combination with Apple’s signature minimalist design, many would say that this gadget simply cannot be beaten.

The iPhone cost differs depending on the model that you want. Fans of the iPhone are waiting with bated breath to see what Apple comes up with next, and are sure to have their expectations exceeded as always.
